Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank reference rate via the Frankfurter API, refreshed daily in your browser. If that fails, an approximate rate is used and the page says so.
How the calculators estimate
- Subway: Seoul metropolitan integrated fare — ₩1,550 base to 10 km, +₩100 per 5 km to 50 km, +₩100 per 8 km after. Youth and child pay 80% / 50% of the extra-distance charge. Route distances are approximate rail distances, not straight lines.
- AREX from Incheon Airport: the airport section has its own fare (₩4,750 / ₩5,350 to Seoul Station from T1 / T2). Onward travel from Seoul Station or Hongik Univ. is added at ₩100 per 5 km.
- Taxi: start fare + distance units + waiting-time units, where waiting time is estimated as a share of the trip spent below 15 km/h (15% light, 30% normal, 55% heavy traffic). Night and out-of-zone surcharges add together and are capped at the official maximum (+60% standard, +40% deluxe). A trip that crosses 22:00 or 23:00 is estimated at the pick-up time's rate.
- Climate Card: the cheapest combination of 1/2/3/5/7-day passes covering your stay, plus the ₩3,000 card.
- Operating hours: typical first and last departures from central Seoul; not a station-by-station timetable.
Changelog
